TITLE
Personally I can't wait tell this day is over.

ENTRY

Well if you insist, we can find other ways to seek the pleasures of the flesh while you heal. You know, this wouldn't be such a problem if you didn't wear that outfit.

You know how much of a wild animal I am when you wear it.

So....hows naked twister sound to you?

Ok, this is where I refuse to do a "always remember September 11th" entry.

No flashbacks to that day. No "where was I when I first heard about it." No how I feel about what happened that day.

None of that.

There is going to be way to much of it today and quite frankly I'd rather not get sick of hearing about the biggest terroist strike on american soil in over fifty years like how I get sick of hearing about today's boy bands and whats hot and whats not in pop culture.

Instead what I'm going to talk about is the media and its intense scruteny of terroist activity and actions in the middle east for the past year.

I've been checking out the news on occasion and with how much they talk about this. I'm quite suprised we aren't having a burst of "end of the world" prophecy's blowing up everywhere.

You watch enough of the news and its "we have found a new threat", "there is a confirmed terroist act coming", or "we are currently at ass flaming red warning, the highest on the new threat warning system.". Enough of that and its going to make even the most stable person a big ball of paranoia.

Personaly I can't see how someone could sit through that day in and day out. You listen to one of these 24 hour news channels it looks like all hell has broken out.

And how much of this "news" we hear all the time isn't what was always happening, but now has become news worthy.

Like for example, last summer's "Big Shark Attacks" in Florida. We where hearing it for what seemed like every other day or week about some new shark attack.

Sounded outrageous and quite frightening didn't it.

The things is, statistically speaking, that was pretty much the norm for shark attacks in Florida on average every year.

Just like now when they aren't focusing on the Middle East or terroist activity. We had this HUGE explosion of children being kidnapped in the news.

Considering the number of missing children posters at store bill boards, post offices, and police departments. Those stories where but a tiny fraction of missing and/or kidnapped children each and everyday.

So what makes this all so special? Why does something that statistically wise happens on an almost daily basis all of a sudden be "new"?

Because we, as the average television watcher and disenfranchised american, have short attention spans and are easily desentized. Especially when dealing with things that don't directly effect our lives.

The media, in its infinite wisdom, decided the way to make the big bugs is to show you what is happening in this big world on an second, hourly, daily, and weekly basis.

And what better way to do this then to have several 24 hour pure news channels that can focus with all its experts, broadcasters, and analyists one subject tell they beat it into the ground.

Now I feel real bad about what happened last September 11th, don't get me wrong on that just cause I don't feel like sharing my feelings about it.

What I'm truely angry and anoyed with is the media's explotation of all the sorrows in the world. Like blood sucking leaches, the atatch to the body and suck it dry of every last drop then move on to a new body.

Ok, its not ALL like that, but with a sensory overload of news channels out there, it becomes a quick slippery slope the second you bend morals and good taste in the name of "giving us the news".

We are not going to honor the memory of everyone we lost in the Twin Towers and the Pentagon by giving them fifty million behind the scenes, new footage, and deep analysis of the day news broad casts with flashy graphics and pearly white teethed broadcasters focusing on the camera as if they are talking directly to you.

This is not a game show folks, this is reality.

We are not going to do them "justice" if we keep beating this like a dead horse tell it becomes a fading fad, an annoyance of yesterday, a "Orange is the new September 11th"!

When did human pain and suffering become marketable in pop culture?

Well, negating the fact how much pain and suffering boy bands and flavor's of the week can be to the vast majority of us.

So to me, to honor all the lost americans in the towers. To feel the pain of all the families who lost fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, loved ones in this great and pointless tragedy. This is what I'm going to do.

I'm going to refuse to watch any kind of show based off the tragedy's of September 11th.

I'm going to hope that one day we can get past this. That one day life will go on without us worrying when the next terroist strike will happen. Hope we never have to see so much death and destruction again in the name of "god".

My thoughts will be to all the families that are no longer complete because of one group's grudge with America. Hope that they can survive through there lose. Sympathize with there pain and hope they never know such suffering every again.

Thats it......no fucking TV shows, no news broadcasts, none of that shit.

Have a good one folks and remember life does have more meaning then what your local news broadcaster tells you.
