TITLE
A contemplative new years, oh joy oh joy...its definetly better then getting laid, sure.

ENTRY

"I have been dead for years, just no one bothered to let me know that fact."

Anonymos

Well, happy new year and all that crap.

This to me is a preaty shitty one since its the first in a couple of years my friend's band didn't play on new years eve, probably cause its a mondy this year.

So, I sat home and found other...

*toke, toke, gulp, gulp*

means of entertainment.

Which in itself was preaty damn boring, except for the fact I had a few friends over and we all took it easy this new years eve.

Of course, the year we take it easy is the year the local bs service is offering rides anywhere in there district for free tell four in the morning.

The only fun I could find in that on this eve is getting the bus to drive me around or take me to strange locations to see whats going on there, only to end back home for the rest of the night.

How sad is that!!!

Made me wish I had someone I love very much right here, tonight to enjoy this with, instead of spending yet another new years eve alone.

*sighs*

I won't go into details about this, but me and relationships, its worked out I preaty much haven't gotten a new years kiss.....ever.

Oh whoa how I can see the numbers of depressed and suicidal people rise during this time of year. Because if your alone this time of year, does it lay preaty heavily on you.

I'm not saying I'm suicidal, if you don't count the fact I almost subjected to Dick Clark's rockin new years eve. I'm just a bit on the depressed side.

How ironic that so many people get depressed this time of year and there means of drowning there sorrows is to chug as my much alchol as possible, which is a depresent, so wouldn't that be a bit of a contridiction.

Ah well, to figure in the logic of man is like get a blow job by your top ten sexiest women alive, while smoking the biggest bowl of the mean ass, zombized weed, and eating your favorite food while watching the three stooges.

It just aint happening, sadly enough.

The thing is, we can't blame the alchol for this problem, to adding to the high rate of depression and suicides this time of year, even though it plays a preaty important role in it. We can't blame it because we as a people are to quick to blame other things and other people on there sorrows and woes in life, but not willing to except responsibility for there actions.

If you are the type who drinks to much, so much that there is a good chance you will either do something you will really regret, ruin a relationship with someone, go to jail or think about killing yourself cause you are all alone. Its not the alchol's fault, its your own cause you couldn't do a little thing like control yourself.

We couldn't ban alchol from this country, it would be an impossibility and only create a large crime sindication which to disrpute said alchol. As it was in the early twentieth century during prohibition.

But, I almost believe there should be a licence to drink. A simple test, if you can't control the amount of alchol you consume in a period of time, and just lose complete control of yourself. Then, you shouldn't be able to get the licence, since usually thats the dumb fucks who cause the car accidents every year.

At the same time this system wouldn't work, because we have become to use to the concept of alchol in our society, we have been breed by out ancenstors and there ancestors that alchol is good, and it is a good way to drown your sorrows and/or have a good time.

So, as every passing year goes, a majority of people drink themselves in a stupor cause they HAVE to, cause its new years eve and you just GOTTA let lose and drink yourself stupid.

That mentality bugs the shit out of me, when someone is just looking for a "good" excuse to get thrashed, or just because its a certain event or holiday that classically people get trashed on, you just gotta do it cause to think for yourself would require to many of these dead brain cells you drank away in your life.

Yes, I drink, but on a very RARE occasion and I know my limits. I'm not going to go out and get shit faced and wonder what the fuck I did last night or how I ended up in jail or why is my girlfriend so pissed at me that she wants to break up with me.

I may drink, but if it wasn't around at all, I wouldn't miss it for a second.

But, as history has shown, we could never and should never put a ban on alchol in this country. It creates more problems then silutions.

Though we still have people petitioning for the ban of alchol each and every year, refusing to look at the reality of the situation, the big picture.

Banning alchol is a lot like baning sex and violence in movies.

Many people want it done, because so many preffer to blame alchol, movies, and television shows rather then take responsibility that they just couldn't or didn't teach there children from whats right and whats wrong.

Ok, so we ban these things, what next?

Sure, its easy to see Utopia on the other side of the hedges then take a set of clippers to it, only to find another hedge line blocking you from the land of grapes and honey.

We ban these things, then these same people will find something they don't like and find just as distastefull, another scape goat, to petition for it to be banned.

Then, after we take the first step in banding these things, it becomes a vicious circle of banning anything and everything people find to be there next scape goat.

Alchol, sex, violance are banned, then what do they do next?

Art, because some of the greatest masterpieces have a sexual or violent overture to it.

How about books, so many with contridicting beliefs to the norm, create a havoc in our society if a book shows our youth a radical means of thinking.

It would never end, because to do this means you assume you can please all the the people all the time.

Which as we all know is impossible.

Instead it would lead to a society of severly repressed people afraid of saying whats on there minds because it might be considered a violation of said morality laws.

But people still persist these are the problem, and if we get rid of it everything will be better.

Well, you know what they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Solutions that creat more problems then cures them is not what we need.

Its like our war on drugs versueses marijuana.

Now, for the sake of my argument, lets just ignore all the usues hemp can have and the medicinal qualities of marijana.

Majority of pro-marijuan people who talk about that is full of shit, because there just saying that shit to find good qualities to legalize, so they can smoke down freely.

Anyways, will ignore those simple realities and break it down to one simple thing.

Marijuana is a drug that alone, can not kill someone no matter how much of it you use. Sure it can fuck you really good and can impede things like driving or clear thinking, but so does alchol and a million other things on the market.

For example, there is a drug out there right now, I can't remember the name of it, but currently it is legal in our country. It is only one molecule away from being the same make up as heroin, but that one molecule has helped so many people walk again when they where confined to a wheel chair, let them speak when normally they are babbling and incoherent.

But, they want to make it illegal because so many people abuse this drug, can't control themselves and abuse it and it has caused death.

Why should the people it helps, suffer for the stupidity of the abusers in life?

Why should they not have a better life because some punk ass mother fucker decied to take a handfull of the drugs and it ended up killing them.

but back to the marijuana topic...

It does not kill, like alchol and hundreds of other legal drugs and substences that are legal.

It costs so much to try and "police" the war on marijuana, when it could make so much money for this country.

Now here me out on this.

War on marijuana is ended and the drug is made illegal.

First off, we save millions possible billions of dollars in govermental money each year NOT trying to ban it.

And how can our goverment AND our society benifit finacially from this you may ask, I'll tell you.

For our goverment it means being able to tax this product like they do cigarettes, which would mean so much more money to work with and more govermental jobs.

For our society it means new companies coming to life, building new factories for more people to get jobs in order to make the marijuana and package it out. Which means more people have jobs, which means more money to circulate through our market as people buy more and more products, thus ending any kind of recesion.

Our goverment can set up a section of Alchol, Tobbacco and Firearms to regulate the sales of marijuana to keep it clean and safe.

Our society benifits from the major cash flow such business and business that would pop up from the legalization of it.

There, its just that simple.

If we stop fighting against stupid shit, we can prosper further.

I understand keeping things like cocaine, heroin, crank and all that illegal because those are drugs that can kill if to much is taken.

Hell, when you think about it, marijuana is better then alchol because to much alchol can poison your system and kill you.

Yet we keep up these notions that we can stop the trafficing of marijuana because some people find it to be wrong and against there beliefs.

I find Southern Baptist's reasons for boycotting Disney and them "supposedly" finding an old established rule in the bible that women MUST be subservent to there men, to be wholey distastefull and offensive to my belief structure.

But do I go around demanding to have these beliefs banned in this country, hell no I don't.

It is pointless to ban something that these people will do anyways and be right in there belief that they CAN think like this, even if it is objectional to someone like me.

If we are going to establish a law to ban ANYTHING that someone(s) will wholey abuse, and quite possibly to there death, we find its a fruitless battle to turn everyone into mindless atomotons, unwilling to do anything in fear of it being illegal.

Sure there is a lot of things that need to be regulated like rattings on movies or music to warn people what they are getting into when they purchase or partake in said product, but after that its up to you. If you can show enough control to not abuse it or do something extremely stupid because of it, then you shouldn't do it in the first place.

If you can't control how much drinking you do, then don't drink at all.

If you are afraid your children will be negatively effected by some movie, tv show, or music then either properly teach them right from wrong or don't subject them to said things tell they are old enough to figure out right from wrong for themselves.

This is all that easy, but of course as a society we have to complicate things so much tell they are horribly blown out of proportion. Not to mention the inherient need in man to seek a scape goat, rather then take responsibilty for one's own actions.

Unfortunetly, to try and logically think this all through and hope that everyone else can be logical about it is preaty much a one way ticket to a loney bin, because it something that just aint going to happen and will only drive you nuts if you think it can.

But like I say...

eh....fuck it... shit happens.

Happy new year folks, hope I didn't make it worse by thinking to much about this shit...heh.
